The TTV10 Thermal Test Vehicle is a high-performance thermal characterization platform designed for engineers developing complex cooling solutions, package architectures, and power-dense electronic systems. With four independently controllable heater zones, six integrated hotspots, and an extensive embedded sensor network, the TTV10 allows users to reproduce realistic thermal behavior with exceptional flexibility. It is the ideal platform when single-source heating is no longer enough and accurate thermal emulation becomes essentiell.
Built to Model Complex Thermal Reality
Modern electronics rarely heat uniformly. The TTV10 was developed to mirror that reality. Four primary heater zones allow controlled regional power loading, while six additional hotspots simulate localized peak temperatures commonly found in CPUs, power modules, AI accelerators, and multi-die packages. Sixteen integrated RTD sensors inside the chip, complemented by four substrate NTC sensors, provide detailed thermal visibility across the package.
Its robust 60 × 60 mm2 package combines high power capability with repeatable handling and easy laboratory integration, enabling faster experiments and more credible thermal data.
Performance at a Glance
- Up to 2000 W theoretical total package power for extreme thermal load studies
- 4 independent heater zones + 6 hotspots for realistic heat-map generation
- 16 integrated RTD sensors + 4 backside NTCs for high-resolution monitoring
- 60 × 60 mm2 package format for easy system-level integration
Electronic Test Board
The electronic test board (ETB) is an adapter to plug-in the TTV10. Six connectors (X1 – X6) allow an easy powering of the four heater zones and the six hotspots, additionally power sensing of the four heater zones by 4-wire measurement is enabled via these connectors. The ETB provides three multiplexing units (MUX) which allow the contacting of the individual sensors and three constant current sources to provide sensor bias current via the X7 sensing connector.
